studioNR is modular by design.
About
Studio NR is the creative practice of Nicol Eltzroth Rosendorf—a director, artist, and composer working at the intersection of motion, language, sound, and structure.
Rosendorf began in the early days of desktop video, first in-house at Coca-Cola in 1993, then launching his own studio in 1996. Since then, he’s directed motion, led visual systems for global brands, and delivered work that moves with clarity and intent. In parallel, he’s developed a sustained art practice spanning experimental music and conceptual installation.
Studio NR adapts its form to suit each project. Sometimes, it's just Rosendorf, a laptop, and a deadline. Sometimes, it's a team, a system, or a swarm. The scale changes. The approach doesn't.
The studio works across commercial campaigns, installation-based activations, generative systems, and experimental sound and image, blending precision with curiosity and structure with drift. It builds from scratch or executes external visions with care and cohesion. From the first spark to the final frame, the focus stays the same: clarity, rigor, and resonance.
Some projects are clean and client-facing. Others fall apart on purpose, then reassemble into something sharper. The tension between those modes is where the most interesting work happens.
-
Creative Direction
Concept to execution. Narrative structure, visual language, and design systems anchored in motion and built to scale. Strategic when necessary. Disruptive when useful.
-
Motion / Animation / VFX
Not an add-on. The core engine. Motion here is structural, strategic, and specific - built to carry meaning across broadcast, digital, and installation formats.
-
Installations & Experiential
We build responsive, evolving systems—projection-based, interactive, spatial, or procedural. The spectacle matters. So does the structure. Behind the moment, thoughtful systems support both execution and intent.
-
Experimental Tools & AI
AI and generative systems used with intent, not novelty. Decades of experience guide how tools are chosen, adapted, and pushed - always in service of the idea, not the hype.
-
Music / Sound Systems
Sonic architecture. Drone scores, responsive audio, sound designed to structure experience, not decorate it.
